Your handpan was never meant to be played alone.
Imagine walking into a room filled with handpans, taking your place in the group and adding your part to something none of you could create alone.
š¼ Over six weeks, youāll learn and perform a complete piece as part of a handpan ensemble. Each person receives a role suited to their abilityāfrom grounding bass lines and accessible patterns to interlocking rhythms, melodies and improvisation.
š¶ Youāll develop your timing, listening, and confidence while connecting with people who share your love of the handpan. Between rehearsals, the Panafide app (Panafide.com) gives you access to your part, interactive practice materials, and the ensemble community.
š„ By the end, you wonāt simply have attended six classes. Youāll have helped transform a room of individual players into an ensembleāand experienced the joy of performing together.
Tuition includes six rehearsals, Creative Lab time, Panafide.com membership, practice materials, and the season-end performance in the format of a beautiful video of the group shared to social media.
All experience levels are welcome. There is no auditionāif you can produce a clear basic tone and are excited to learn, there is a place for you.
You donāt always need another lesson. Sometimes you need a place to play.
Ever wish there were a space where handpan players could create, share, jam and connect?
Creative Lab brings players together to exchange ideas and make music.
In the music room, you can:
šµ Share your music
š„ Try challenges and partner activities
š„ Exchange rhythms and techniques
š¬ Ask for feedback
š¤ Meet and collaborate
āØ Explore new scales and ideas
š¶ Join impromptu jams
The lounge is for drinks, conversation and connecting with your handpan community.
Thereās no curriculum and no pressure to perform. Bring an idea, a question, a creative blockāor simply your desire to spend time with people who love this instrument.
Creative Lab is included with the Handpan Ensemble Program. Come for the full two hours each week, or drop in for one evening with no program commitment.
Bring your handpan. Bring your curiosity. Leave with new ideas, new connections and fresh inspiration to play. š±
